MARY CHRISTA SHIRK CLIFTON
Mary Christa Shirk Clifton 70, died Thursday, October 30, 2008 at her residence. She was the daughter of Alice McMahn Shirk and Carl Robert Shirk. Mrs. Clifton was a native and resident of Savannah. She was a graduate from St. Vincent's Academy and received a BS degree in Medical Technology from Mt. St. Agnes College in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a Medical Technologist for over 40 years. Mrs. Clifton was a communicant and a communion minister at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Mrs. Clifton was a loving wife to Marlin for 47 years and a loving mother to her son Michael; she lived her life for her family, her church and her work.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest son, Marlin David Clifton, Jr.
Surviving are, her husband, Marlin David Clifton, her son Michael Clifton both of Savannah, her nieces, Lynne Ricord of Savannah, Teresa Wasko of Pensacola, FL., and her mother-in-law, Nora F. Clifton of Savannah.
A Funeral Mass will be Friday, November 7, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with Monsignor Francis J. Nelson, Celebrant.
In lieu of flowers please send remembrances St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Christa, my sister-in-law, was also a friend. She always made me feel welcome. Visiting the Clifton family with my husband Alan are some of my best memories.
